Business Leadership Program
The Virginia Police Chiefs Foundation Board of Directors has approved the development of a new program of study within VPCF's Virginia Center for Leadership Education.
The VPCF is currently seeking a partnership with a Virginia university to develop and conduct a program focused on leadership and skill sets for senior level executives using business principles and concepts. The target audience will be senior level public safety and government executives and business leaders and managers.
Where the Institute for Leadership in Changing Times (ILCT) is geared toward first-line supervisors and managers, and the Professional Executive Leadership School (PELS) is appropriate for mid- and upper management and executive positions within the public or private sector, this new program, a Business Leadership model, goes one step further.
The intent of this program will be to transfer certain business principles and skills to the executives attending this program. Many of Virginia’s government executives, especially those in the public safety sector, are well versed in management practices; however, we find that skill sets in business leadership are not readily available.
This program is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2009. More information will be available on this website as the program is finalized.
