About the Center
The Virginia Center for Leadership Education was created as an education resource for the leaders of today and tomorrow to help them reach their highest potential as leaders. Designed for both business decision-makers and law-enforcement executives, the center provides a unique tract of education focusing on developing professional executive leadership skills.
Often times executives, whether running a successful business or managing a police department, focus on the immediate needs and challenges of their organizations, neither having the time nor the opportunity to plan for their future leadership potential or that of their staff members. Some of the best leaders are cultivated from within, but there are limited internal resources to prepare these individuals to take on leadership responsibilities. The Virginia Center for Leadership Education recognizes this need and is committed to providing quality leadership education courses for these individuals.
Our courses are intensive, multi-week sessions of classroom, on-the-job, and project work, acquainting participants with theory and best practices in leadership from the public and private sectors of business. These courses challenge participants to reflect on their own leadership competency, develop creative thinking skills, and expand leadership actions in their levels of responsibility.
