COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Virginia Police Chiefs Foundation acknowledges the support police officers give their communities. In recognition of this, the Virginia Police Chiefs Foundation has established the Virginia Police Chiefs Foundation College Scholarship Program, a needs-based scholarship for dependent children of active police officers in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The scholarship is not available to dependent children of sheriff's deputies, federal officers, or civilian personnel working in police agencies.
2008 VPCF College Scholarship Program Application:
Prospective applicants should carefully read the guidelines and procedures and provide the necessary information on the appropriate application form.
Judging Procedure:
This is a needs-based scholarship. Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee whose decision shall be final. Applications will be judged on the following criteria: (1) Demonstrated need; (2) Academic achievement; (3) Community/civic achievements; and (4) Essay. Prospective applicants should carefully read the application procedures and elegibility guidelines.

Finalists must be prepared to appear personally for an interview, if necessary.

Employment information for sponsoring police officers will be verified for all finalists.

Applicants not submitting a complete application package will not be considered.

Handwritten applications and essays will not be considered.

The application package may not be sent by electronic means.

Application packages postmarked after the deadline date will not be accepted.

Scholarship winners will be required to submit a brief questionnaire and photograph of themselves. These items may be used on our website and/or in articles written about our scholarship program. Submission of your application implies consent to the use of your image and information provided as stated above.
